Amy Klobuchar is a white woman who will always have an active stake in white supremacy, as all white women do. By Gloria Oladipo In typical white women fashion, presidential candidate Amy Klobuchar is profiting off of Black oppression for her own personal gain. News broke earlier this month that Klobuchar had accepted donations from...

The Case Against Elizabeth Warren
What Elizabeth Warren showcases as a sincere progressive Democratic candidate, is the many contradictions that exist within that party. This article was originally published by the Hood Communist By Erica Caines My earliest recollection of Elizabeth Warren, politically, was in 2012 when she ran in Massachusetts against the incumbent, Scott Brown. I recall the headlines...

A Black Leftist’s Perspective of Elizabeth Warren’s Rally and Politics
Complete with everything that white politicians do at rallies held at HBCUs, Warren’s event was a masterclass of pandering. In October of 2015, I was one of nine Atlanta University Center (AUC) students to protest then-presidential hopeful, Hillary Clinton. We were among the first to ever protest Clinton on her campaign trail, and were the...

The Trump New Normal: It’s Here, And It’s Frightening
by Gretchen Gales People told me to remain calm as I solemnly stared at the red blanket over America, saying nothing bad would happen. This hasn’t been the case. It took less than a day after the presidential election for my friends to report they’d been shouted at, or had people chanted outside of their doors. My...

The Future is Bearing Down on Us; She is Furious, and She is Female
by Nayomi Munaweera On Election Day, I went to my polling place in Oakland, California, quietly jubilant as I imagined watching a woman elected to the most powerful seat in the land and my heart thumped with joy. On that day, I realized I had not really known the depth of misogyny I have lived...

Why America Hates Hillary Clinton
It has long been said that Hillary Clinton has a likability problem. In a campaign between a verifiably racist business-tycoon-turned-reality-TV-star with rape allegations and a steely career politician, the poll results have shown American voters care very little about political experience, and much more about charisma. When the final race to the Oval Office began,...

Your Presidential Election Disaster Preparedness Guide Is Here
You know the drill. Duck and cover. Stop, drop and roll. Store fresh water and canned food. We Americans have grown up with several sets of instructions for what to do in the case of an emergency. Disaster preparedness is part of the fabric of our country. We as a nation are in constant fear...

Fed Up With Islamophobia, Muslims Are Mobilizing Around This Election
Muslim Americans are a small fraction of our national population, but the political discourse around us seems to echo loudly this election cycle. All three presidential debates this year have included at least one question — or should we say shouting match? — regarding what some like to call “the Islam problem.” The subject matter ranges from...

Eric Trump Tricked by Latinas Contra Trump
It seems like Donald Trump isn’t the only Trump doing absolutely careless things. His son, Eric Trump, posed for several photos with his arms around smiling protestors — whose shirts read “Latinas Contra Trump.” Latinas Against Trump. With Donald Trump’s statements about Latinx immigrants, it’s no wonder that no one on Trump’s team, including his middle...
